When most people think of trading cards, they picture professional athletes, historic performances, and valuable pieces of game-worn memorabilia.

But at Reclaim Customs, we believe some of the most meaningful trading cards have nothing to do with professional sports.

Sometimes, the greatest stories come from the people and pets we love.

In our latest behind-the-scenes episode, we're taking you inside the Reclaim cave for a day filled with unique custom cards, thoughtful surprises, and plenty of laughs.

And one particular project might just tug at your heartstrings.

A Beloved Dog Named Winnie, and the Mark She Left Behind

Every pet owner knows that animals leave their marks on our lives. Sometimes, quite literally.

One of the featured projects in this episode is a custom memorial trading card honoring Winnie, a beloved dog who passed away in 2024.

Winnie had a habit of pawing and scratching at a particular pair of pants. What might have once seemed like an ordinary little quirk became something incredibly meaningful after she was gone.

When we were commissioned to create a tribute card for Winnie, we incorporated a piece of those very pants into the design.

The remarkable part? You can actually see one of Winnie's scratch marks on the relic itself.

It's a tiny detail with an enormous amount of sentimental value.

We finished the card with our premium gold holofoil, creating a beautiful tribute that preserves not only Winnie's image, but a physical reminder of her personality.

It's projects like these that remind us why we love what we do.

A "Player-Worn" Relic Card for a Future Superstar

Our next project features another very special subject, although this little guy hasn't exactly made his professional debut.

In fact, he's not even old enough to play sports yet!

That didn't stop us from creating his very own custom "player-worn" relic trading card.

It's our playful take on the game-worn memorabilia cards that have become so popular in the sports collecting world, except this time, the featured athlete is a little youngster whose biggest accomplishments are still ahead of him.

Like Winnie's card, this project features our premium gold holofoil treatment.

Because whether we're creating a collectible for a Hall of Fame athlete or a family's newest little superstar, we believe the details matter.

Birthday Surprises Around the Reclaim Cardistry Cave

Of course, it's not all printing, foiling, and assembling trading cards around here.

Our teammate Fred decided to do something especially thoughtful for Aaron and me in celebration of our birthdays.

Even though Fred had the day off, he left a couple of hidden presents for us to track down around the shop.

A little birthday scavenger hunt wasn't exactly on our production schedule, but it certainly made the day more memorable.

It's one of those small moments that says a lot about the people who make Reclaim Customs what it is.

A Detroit Lions Pop Quiz That Didn't Go as Planned

Later in the episode, our friend Al stops by the cave.

Apparently, Fred and Aaron had been planning something for the two of us.

Their big idea? A surprise Detroit Lions trivia quiz.

Now, considering the amount of Detroit Lions history and memorabilia that passes through our shop, you might think we'd be pretty well prepared.

But let's just say the quiz didn't unfold quite the way Fred and Aaron anticipated.

You'll have to watch to see how it played out!

More Than Just Trading Cards

One of the things we hope people take away from our behind-the-scenes videos is that Reclaim Customs is about more than manufacturing collectibles.

It's about preserving memories, telling stories, creating something that didn't exist before, and having a good time with the people we work alongside.
