How It Works: Creating a Custom Piece with Reclaim Customs

At Reclaim Customs, every project we create is built on two things — your story and our craftsmanship. Whether you’re transforming an autograph, reclaiming a relic, or envisioning a one-of-a-kind custom piece, the process is designed to be personal, transparent, and exciting from start to finish.
Here’s how it all works.
Step 1: Start with the Basics
Before jumping straight into a project, we recommend you visit our FAQ page. It’s the best place to get familiar with our pricing structure, timelines, and answers to common questions about materials, finishes, and options.
Once you’ve reviewed the basics and you’re ready to start your custom project, you’ll head to our Custom Card Order Form. This is where the real fun begins.
Step 2: Fill Out the Custom Card Order Form
The Custom Card Order Form is the foundation of your project. This is where you’ll provide as many details as possible about what you’d like us to create.
The more information you include, the more precisely we can build your quote and plan your design. On the form, you can specify things like:
Size of the custom card or piece
Foiling, finishes, and materials
Number of relics or autographs you’d like embedded
Whether you’d like to include a cut signature, game-used relic, or patch
Notes about theme, inspiration, or layout ideas
Once we review your submission, we’ll respond via email with a detailed price breakdown and quote, along with instructions for payment.
Payment is required in full up front before production begins, which secures your place in our project queue.
Step 3: Understanding Timelines & Expedited Options
We’re proud to say that every Reclaim Customs piece is handcrafted with care and precision. Because of that attention to detail, we typically maintain a 3–4 month project backlog.
If you’re working with a specific timeline or want to move things along faster, we offer an expedited service option for $100 per card or custom piece. Expedited projects are prioritized and typically completed within 1–2 weeks once payment is received.
Even if you have a specific date in mind, you’ll need to select the expedited service to ensure timely delivery — our backlog can shift depending on volume, and we can’t guarantee completion dates without it.
Step 4: The Design Phase
This is where your vision starts taking shape. You have two main options when it comes to design direction:
Full Creative Control — You can choose to be heavily involved in the design process, guiding every element of your project. This level of collaboration usually includes additional design fees.
Reclaim Creative Direction — You can hand over creative control entirely to our design team — which is truly where we thrive. When you give us creative freedom, we use our experience, eye for storytelling, and craftsmanship to create something spectacular on your behalf.
No matter which option you choose, you’ll always get final approval of the artwork before anything is sent to print. We want you to be confident and excited about what’s coming your way.
Step 5: Printing, Assembly, and Finishing
Once your design is approved, the printing phase begins — and from there, things move quickly.
All assembly is done by hand right here in the Reclaim Customs artistry cave. Every card, relic, and autograph is carefully built, layered, and sealed to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece that feels as good as it looks.
Many of our customers love following along on social media — your piece will often be featured in our behind-the-scenes posts, showcasing parts of the assembly process and final photography once it’s complete.
Step 6: Quality Control and Delivery
Before any piece leaves our shop, it goes through a final round of inspection to ensure everything meets our standards — from alignment and surface finish to relic placement and signature integrity.
Once it passes inspection, your piece is packaged securely and shipped directly to you.
The Reclaim Customs Experience
From your first message to the moment you open your finished piece, our goal is simple — to make the experience as memorable as the artwork itself.
We take pride in going above and beyond expectations for every client. Whether it’s the precision of our craftsmanship, the thought behind our design, or the presentation of the final product, we want you to be blown away.
At the end of the day, you’re not just commissioning a custom card — you’re investing in a story, a piece of art, and a legacy you can hold in your hands.
